This fictional feature follows a twenty-something man who is struggling to define his position in the world in early adulthood. He has left their parents' home but still has not made an home of his own. Our protagonist’s alienation is palpable; for him life is a game, not because he chooses to make it so, but because he is unable to make anything more of it. But for those who befriend him and eventually turn him loose again, his game is not enough.

The plot centers on Ernie, a 45-year-old loner with a mysterious past who escapes his small-town hardships after being lured by the charms of a fearless group of young influencers on their way to Los Angeles. After finding a place he can finally fit in, he dives deep into a digital world of hedonism, self-exploration, and first love, only to realize that his late coming of age is never what nature or society intended.

A telling of the fledging careers and early days of the comedy duo that was Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise, from their dance-hall performances of northern England to cult status.

Underground Ernie is a Computer-animated children's television series produced by Joella Productions in the UK and shown by the BBC on both CBeebies and BBC Two. It is set in International Station, a fictional worldwide underground network, and focuses on the everyday adventures of Ernie, a friendly Underground supervisor, Millie, his multilingual colleague and Mr Rails the lovable maintenance man. The locomotives under Ernie's watchful eye all have characters of their own. There is Bakerloo, Victoria, Circle, Jubilee and the twins, Hammersmith & City. From time to time they are joined by their friends from across the world including; Paris, Brooklyn, Moscow, Sydney and Osaka.The show is aimed at children between the ages of 3 and 8 years old. The initial series has 26 episodes each lasting 12 mins. Its first showing on was on Monday 5 June 2006 on CBeebies.The Producers of the show 'Joella Productions' are currently trying to raise money to get another series of 'Underground Ernie' created. The Production costs for a series is £4 million.

Ernie Wise was always part of a double-act. As one half of Morecambe and Wise, Britain's most successful comedy team, he enjoyed the lifestyle of the rich and famous. It was a partnership that lasted 46 years - until Eric died in 1984. Then his "little fat friend" had to go on alone. Being number two in their act was never easy for Ernie, and a new solo act has proved even more difficult. Last Christmas, for the first time in 20 years, he appeared in pantomime. This film examines what drives him to want to make a comeback when he could be enjoying his retirement. He is seen preparing for panto, remembering the great times, reliving the jokes; Ernie reveals all, including the hairpiece and the join.
